I’m Lauren Rae Orsini, M.A., an unemployed multimedia journalist located in the greater Washington D.C. area, specifically Northern Virginia. Within the past year, I have written stories and built visualizations for Kotaku, the Newseum, the Investigative Reporting Workshop and the American Observer.

I graduated this summer with my masters in Journalism from American University’s School of Communication. Aside from traditional reporting, my specialties include visual reporting and converting data into graphics; website consultation, design and social network integration; and documentary film. I consider myself a multimedia storyteller and, due to my wide skill set, can choose which medium best suits a particular story. I am currently looking for a job in visual reporting, infographic design, or web production.

For fun, I report and write opinions about fandom, anime, and video games. Some of my writing on fandom can be found at Japanator, Con News and the Anime USA official blog, but I usually link back to everything on my blog, Otaku Journalist.
